What is Sudoku99?
Sudoku99 is a collection of Sudoku puzzle games that replaces the standard 1–9 with different number systems and symbols from cultures around the world. Every game is a fresh challenge — not just a new puzzle, but a new set of symbols.
The main game picks 9 random numbers from 0 to 99, so no two games look alike. Variants use symbols from ancient civilizations, modern languages, and everything in between.
The Games
- Sudoku99 — 9 random numbers chosen from 0–99. A different set every game.
- Ancient Biblical Numbers — Hebrew numerals 10–90 (י כ ל מ נ ס ע פ צ), drawn from the Hebrew Bible.
- Encrypted Sudoku — 9 random symbols chosen from a large pool of international characters. Can you crack the code?
- Egyptian Sudoku — Random hieroglyphs from a pool of hundreds, or switch to the classic Egyptian numeral tally marks.
- Chinese Sudoku — Chinese numerals randomly selected from 零 through 十, or play with the fixed 一–九 set.
- Roman Numeral Sudoku — The classic I through IX, as carved in stone across the Roman Empire.
- Korean Sudoku — Korean number words randomly chosen from 영 (0) through 구십구 (99).
How It Works
Each variant is a standard 9×9 Sudoku puzzle — every row, column, and 3×3 box must contain each of the 9 symbols exactly once. Sudoku Lite offers a smaller 6×6 version for a quicker game.
All puzzles are generated fresh in your browser using a backtracking algorithm that guarantees a unique solution every time.
